In 1812. World War II. 200th anniversary of victory
The regiment was formed in 1651 from Cherkasy, which at one time moved on Slobidska south-western regions, suffering from the oppression of the Polish-Uniate gentry. Originally newly formed military unit called as Kharkov Slobod Cherkassy Cossack regiment. In 1765 Major Guards Regiment Izmailovsky Uncle Scherbynina the regiment were attached Georgian team and Zhelkoho Hussars and Cossacks Slobidsky several regiments kvartyruvaly in Kharkiv. xb70 June 26, 1783 a military unit was reconfigured to 6 squadron staff and called Kharkov Ukrainian xb70 Hussars cavalry.
In 1801, after yet another reorganization, the regiment was kyrasyrskim and then on its base the Dragoon Regiment. It is called "Kharkov Dragoon" - regiment entered the era of so-called "Napoleonic Wars".
In 1805, when there was a famous battle Austerlytska, Kharkov Dragoon Regiment took position on the right flank, where he commanded P.I.Bahratyon. After receiving news of the defeat of the Russians and Austrians in the center, the regiment began to recede slowly, fighting off the French were arrayed. Kharkov dragoons twice threw a counterattack on the enemy cuirassier, but eventually had to leave zmuscheni position and continue retreat together with the main forces of the Russian-Austrian army. In the Patriotic War of 1812 four existing squadrons of the regiment were in the 2nd Western army in the 4th Cavalry Corps Major General K.K.Siversa, emergency squads - in the reserve corps of Lieutenant-General F.V.Sakena. xb70 Komanduvav Kharkiv dragoon colonel D.M.Yuzefovych.
During the retreat of the Russian army from Smolensk Kharkov Dragoon Regiment fought in the rear, first detachment K.K.Siversa, and then was sent to help the squad lieutenant general P.P.Konovnitsyna. In the battle xb70 for Kharkov Shevardynskomu redoubt dragoons together Chernigov regiment of dragoons fought off attack infantry division of General xb70 Friana. At Borodino Kharkov Regiment as part of the 4th Cavalry Corps fought in Bahratyonovyhh flash and Semenov xb70 in spring.
In the battle of Vyazma Italian hands, backed by heavy columns of infantry, broke forward xb70 and cut Kharkov xb70 Dragoon connection with our cavalry. However regiment rushed xb70 at full speed past the enemy column. Overwhelmed by such a bold maneuver, the Italians made no shot, and dragoons did not lose a single person ...
It happened August 26, 1813 at the River Kazbah when in the Russo-Prussian Silesian army led by General Blucher Slobodzhanians resisted the French army under Marshal Macdonald, and after the defeat of Macdonald - three days drove up to the French border Saxony. For courage shown by in this battle, Kharkov Dragoon Regiment was awarded the George banners with the inscription "For distinction against the enemy in the Battle of Katsbahu." xb70
